If you guys lock in a date, I'd stop by if I was in town and help turn a wrench.

Depending on the date - I might swing out.
I have a few maintenance items to get done with my X.
Oil Change, coolant, tranny, transfer and diffs.

I'm trying to remember if I need to drop the skid row skids to do the tranny and transfer case.

I also have a axle relocation plate that needs to be installed

I also have to rewire some lights.

And I don't want to be working while exposed to the elements - which is my only oiption right now unless I want to pay for someone to do the work for me.

The two weekends that I have to work with right now are Feb 6 and Feb 20.

Jeff, with your rack and lift, there's no way that you'd get into my garage, but we can pull it pretty far in so that it'd be at least partially in a protected area.

Everyone else, I think we can get things done pretty easily and, for those trucks that couldn't get in as is, we can air them down, lower them pretty far and then air back up after the work's done.

I can pull the rack off the top - would I fit with the lift and no rack?

It'd be close, but worth trying

If we do it on the 20th that gives you a month to build a garage. Right? :-)

Yeah...
That'd work.

I do have some ways to shelter people (thank to my camping supplies), so we'd better hope for no rain / snow and that it's not windy.

I have to work in Boston the 6th -7th but should have the weekend of the 20th off.

I'll be up for turning a wrench as long as I'm free that weekend. I also have a couple Easy-Up tents I can bring along if the weather gets stupid.

I'm going to work on making sure that my calendar's cleared and will post up the details - including who's getting what done.

I don't get to do much highway driving but, today..basically the second time I have been on the highway since I got the new tires installed and the front end aligned...the truck shakes over 50. It did the same with the old tires. They did say my alignment was off. I figured the shaking would be gone now. Hopefully it's just a balance or alignment issue, just weird that it would still be doing it, if it is anything major that might mess up my plan for this.
The truck is due for inspection this month, my son and I were joking about "at least the check engine light isn't on this time" (last year one of the O2 sensors was setting it off once in a while, it cleared though) Guess what came on today? Ya, the check engine light. Unreal!

Is it possible that something's loose? Does the steering feel wobbly at all when the vibration starts?

It could be a balancing issue, a combination of item such as worn bushings and balance or just a rim that can't be balanced (I had two of those).

As for the CEL, did you tighten your gas cap and try driving around (just in case it's that old problem that we've all been told to check)?

Big E - go to an autozone and have them get the code the engine is throwing - and get the actualy code, not what they tell you the code means

And then determine what the code is yourself

I say determine it yourself, because when I had to fix a wire to my EVAP canister vent control, Autozone told me it was a loose gas gap.

If I push the passenger front up and down I hear a click and I have heard a rattle that comes and goes, I thought it was just the heat shield around the headers because it sounds like something thin or light metal. I did feel around in the front when I first heard the noise. The steering used to shake a lot with the previous tires (when the alignment was way off)
I have gone to Autozone for the code, it's the first O2 sensor. It seems to come and go, it started after spraying mud off the engine but went away. Maybe you're right about the loose wire and I did get gas yesterday....hmmmm.
Now I'm getting worried that the shake is something worse than I thought. haha

ok.. Mod day is being set for Feb 21 at my place.

Start chiming in with who you are, what you want to do and whether or not you need tools to help get the work done.

Eric (Xtraveler192): Re-index T-Bars

I'm leaving the next morning for 7 days of work on a remote, so I don't want to dive into anything more serious.

I think the tools I have should be enough to do the work.
