We are changing the location to Gremlin Graveyard as we have access to the land for now. If this changes between now and then, the alternate location will be Taunton/Freetown. As many of you know Taunton/Freetown is stock friendly.
July 21st, 2013 @ Gremlin Graveyard in South-Central, MA
Contact: David (RCHeliman)
The July 21 run will be at "Gremlin Graveyard", a large wooded property with 5 major trails. These are logging trails with short stumps and rocks present in the trails. Some trails have large ruts from the logging equipment. Most of the trails are stock friendly during the summer months. Heavy snow is possible in the winter months. The snow and ice will add a more technical aspect to the main trails. There are also two advanced trails with large hill climbs and ledges that will be challenging even to the more modified rigs.
There is room for trailers to be parked at the trail head. There is a large open area (the landing) to air down and to have lunch.
Most of our runs there have averaged 5hrs. From 10:00 am to 3:00pm. This will allow for airing up, any repairs and traveling, getting home at a decent time.
There is no Rig limit for this property. Attendees will meet at 9:30am in Sturbridge, MA This allows more time for weather and longer travel time concerns All attendees must sign a waiver as in all trail runs. Waiver
This is private property. THERE IS A $20 CASH PER RIG LAND USE FEE FOR GG!!! Unless you are with NEXTerra or another NEA Club you will be trespassing, therefore all attendees must be registered members of NEXTerra and be signed up within this thread.
Everyone will be meeting at the:
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store 215 Charlton Rd. Sturbridge Mass. 01566-1216 It is off Mass. I 84 and Rt. 20
Meeting Time: 9:30am Leaving for Trailhead @ 9:45 Sharp!!
There is Parking for Trailers and your Rig in the Back Lot and a Gas station right next door with a Dunkin' Donuts.
After the run we plan on doing dinner at the Cracker Barrel.
Please post if you plan on joining us for the run with your: • screen name • name • year, color, make and model of your vehicle • your club affiliation • and if you plan on staying for dinner at Cracker Barrel

If you can't make it to ECXC, don't just sit around! Come out and have some fun.

We are still going to Gremlin. It is not too late for those not able to attend ECXC to wheel this weekend.

Dave and I ran Fruit Loop today, including Diaper Hill (hope I'm getting those names right). Mostly pleasant, though I had a few encounters where I got pretty close to hitting some drivetrain components. Towards the very end (literally feet from the landing) I misjudged a pile of branches and ended up with a stump neatly in the space between my t-case, engine skid, and frame member. We spent what must have been an hour trying to figure out how to get me out of there (which we did, after much hi-lifting).
No noticeable carnage aside from the usual scrapes. I reeeaaally need better tires.
Videos and pics to come.
