I agree, tires are the key. Regular street will not do, he'll end up getting stuck all day long. Not much fun...

brand new bfg all terrains should do the trick?
Should be ok.
While I would like as many to attend this event as can, I need to post a word of caution.
I have wheeled this place at Roby's many times and we had great conditions (read dry) for the past two years at the Back to School Run.
It can be treacherous when wet, which is likely to be the case in early April. Good tires are a must, but may not be enough. If it is wet, body damage is likely. I've been on two runs in there where no one came out without body damage but me. Then, another time, I destroyed the whole driver's side of my truck.
I just would like to give an honest assessment. Even with good tires, the organic debris and mud can turn the best tires into slicks in no time and sliding is probable.
I just don't want someone to bring their brand new grocery getter, with good tires in there, thinking they will not get damage. If it is muddy and you are inexperienced, it is likely.
If it is fairly dry, it's a lot easier with everything from stock friendly to some of the most advanced stuff you will find. Places, that almost no truck can go.
