To make you feel better.... Rubicon crap outs from the weekend:

- dented front bumper end (crap plastic thing needs to go anyways),
- electronic front sway bar disconnect light blinks (apparently a known problem with the wiring harness not being waterproof) &
- TPMS indicator on all the time.

Had a great time with everyone this weekend, a little too cold at times I've never had 10 pounds of ice build up on each wheel to where I had to take backroads to get back to camp but I run into something new everytime I wheel. Now time for a nap.

Posting on behalf of blueberry/2010xterrajoe/Joey Parent. He is planning on bringing the blue beast to Gremlin but can't remember any of his login info. I'm passing along the signup link to him.

Well I'm glad the other groups had a good time. The "black" group had a tough day; getting in only a half a “real” trail.
Just after the bail out on "13" Justin's upper ball joint gave out ripping apart the half-shaft. He was high-centered at the time making the repair a bit tricky. It took until around 3pm to finish…when it started to rain.
We rolled onto the short break between "13A" and "13B" and the top spring on Misha's passenger side, rear leaf pack snapped. When the rear axle moved back it yanked the drive-shaft out of the slip yoke.
Same thing happened to me at ECXC this year at the same spot of the spring pack I had worked on by the same POS spring shop in Brooklyn that Misha used…coincidence???
No.
Any-who, Misha had given me a top spring a few months ago and luckily I had it and a set of new bushings in my truck. The drive-shaft was dropped. The leaf pack was rebuilt and put into the truck. The drive-shaft got a bit chewed up when it left the slip yoke and needed a bit of work to get it to fit back into place. All this was done under a couple of tarps in the freezing rain and was not finished until after dark. We got out of the park around 7:30.
It was a very rough day that had one of the toughest guys I know crying about how cold he was…

You can watch a short slideshow of the few pictures I took HERE
