Now that I've finally been out with you all, thought i'd post up some photos & progress of my 2015.

It's my daily, but I also bought it to build up into a great adventure truck since I really like heading out to the woods up north for camping, exploring, and rally spectating.

I managed to make it about a year without doing much modifying, but now the flood gates have opened (meeting you all at summit/ma-bell sure didn't help haha) But i'm building up for the Vermont Overland Rally this september so better to be prepared!

Additions so far:
• Garvin drop-in roof basket
• Hardcore off-road winch bumper, radiator skid, & sliders
• smittybilt 8x6 camp awning
• custom rigged axe/shovel carrier
• 1.5" wheel spacers
• rear diff breather extension

To-do list
• Wire up aux fusebox & rear facing flood lights. Sitting in a box, waiting to be installed. (wiring scares me!)
• cut/shape foam pad for folded down backseats (for dual Siberian husky mod)

Testing out the new bumper/sliders.

Spent the weekend taking care of a few odds & ends for a big trip through the North Maine Woods & spectating the New England Forest Rally. I'm bad at wiring so I enlisted the help of some friends.

Ran power through a breaker just in case, to an aux fusebox in the driver's kick panel. Almost looks factory! From that fusebox I wired up a CB radio in the center console compartment & ran some power (and CB antenna coax) to the rear for a couple of roof rack mounted flood lights. Still need to finish wiring them up but ran out of time.

Also replaced the factory engine skid with an aluminum skid from Hefty since I didn't like how exposed the oil pan was in the factory design. This guy continued my trend of "bolt on" parts not being entirely bolt on. Had to trim the rear edges to fit and drill extra holes to accommodate the radiator skid.

Just got home last night from a week long trip through the North Maine Woods. Did roughly 500 miles on dirt roads from Greenville -> Millinocket -> Chain of Ponds -> and finally to Oquossoc to spectate the New England Forest Rally for a couple days. No mechanical issues at all aside from having to fix a puncture at the side of a road. (more impressive for the 1990 Montero in the group)

I've only been home one day but I already want to start planning the next trip.

First checkpoint heading into the North Woods
Image

Quick stop on the Golden Road. For anyone not familiar with it, it's a dirt logging highway that connects Millinocket in the east and carries all the way to the canadian border. We soon learned it should be called the Fury Road based on how fast those log trucks haul ass.
Image

Roof bars make good hammock anchors.
Image

Bonus to the trip was we used some of the rally stages, so when the day came to spectate we already knew where the best spots were!
