The term "cheap" is not something that an aftermarket bumper and winch can be applied to, and it's a bit relative. For example; you could get a used Shrock or ARB if someone was parting them for "cheap," but that might still run about $450-500 for something used vs $700-$900 new. Winch same deal, and would vary depending on which one you got.

As others will attest to here, you get what you pay for in the offroad world. Shrock is the best. ARB is good too.

I'd poke around CL, here, and some of the other Xterra forums to keep an eye when people sell their used stuff.

Not to piss off my frieds with the ARB, but, having owned both the Shrockworks is far superior to the ARB, if you can get one for a good price.

I currently have an arb, while it has held up great to the trees and the lincoln navigator that have gotten in my way I rather have the shrock. They have much stronger tow points, my arb bent on the first light tug, and with the next tug I had to go opposite direction to straighten back out. Honestly thats the only thing I don't care for on the arb. But if you find an arb used for cheap and good condition definitely don't pass it by.

*edit* you should see if Svendog is still selling his front bumper.. see thread link...

I need one for my car and I think it is better to check the quality first than have a cheaper one but with low quality.

There is also TJM. I believe 4x4parts.com carries it. Im satisfied with my TJM but if i had a choice i would probably spend the extra cash on the Shrock.

Either way i beat on mine pretty good for years and it has held up very good so i dont have any complaints.

You can have one custom fabbed - which will be around $700+.
Or, get one from Shrock and wait for a while since it's easily a 6-7 wait after the order is placed.

Either way, just make sure that it has good winch points that are solid and deep. For the winch location, same thing.. that it's in a solid location that's as close to the frame rails as is possible so that you can be sure that you won't tweak the truck while winching or being winched..

Hefty Fabworks makes front & rear bumpers for the II Gens. http://www.heftyfab.com

Or Tactial Armor Group makes front & rear bumpers for I & II Gens. http://www.tacticalarmoregroup.com

I love my Shrockworks bumpers, so I recommend saving up for one.
