I'm no expert but it's basically like a 6th gear in a sports car. It's mainly just for cruising.

There is a button to turn it off if you are towing or have a ton of weight. By turning it off your car won't shift into a lower gear as often putting the wear on the transmission.

You can leave it in over drive most of the time. if you are towing something or have a bunch of weight in the X, you should turn it off. If you notice the tranny shifting a lot between drive and o/d, its best to turn it off.

I leave it on all the time, even when towing light to moderate loads, unless, as mentioned above, it is shifting a lot like going through several hilly areas.

I agree with everyone else
unless towing or carrying a large weight
Leave it on and forget it

haha very funny guys! But i'd hate to disappoint, the wheeling flip flops have since been retired and I actually wear appropriate boots.

The button on the other hand, I think I messed it up somehow in the shifter, I had to take it apart alot when fixing my radio and installing the guages for my shocks. It hasnt worked since 2006, I havent been to worried.
