Got a couple of :?: for everybody, especially those who have the Jerry style gas cans.
Which do you prefer metal or plastic cans? And beyond the weight, your reasons for your preference.

How have you mounted or stored the cans? Pictures if you have them please.
I've been doing some searching and realize most of our states in the North East have some form of CARB laws now map clicky. In searching on Blitz's site I came across this FAQ and had to read this too many times to try and understand this and have yet been able to see why you would make a product that needs a funnel to fill the vehicle.
Quote:
Q: Why can?t I refuel on road vehicles with the Self-Venting or Spill Proof (CARB) spouts?
A: The spouts are not intended for on-road use as the spout is not long enough to open the trap door. A funnel is required if you run out of gas and need to refuel your vehicle.
as can be viewed here

Did they really require a auto shut off valve that can't even open the fill flapper on any newer vehicle? Just seems as though it would make more spills (defeating the purpose) having to use the two devices.

Might as well invest in one of these.

I've heard about others that have gone for these: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... 20004&rid=

Someone on XOC had a picture of a fuel tank like this mounted on their roof.

I just know that these are designed for outdoor storage so that's not a question. They are also lighter then the above mentioned tanks.

Just a thought.
