THIS IS NOT DIRECTED AT ANYONE IN PARTICULAR, JUST SOMETHING I FEEL MUST BE SAID:

i personally like the 09 X, especially the roof lights....its a feature lots of us always wanted but were never offered(besides in the aftermarket)....so what if they're not bright...thats what the aftermarket is for - to improve on the original idea to fit our needs/wants better....im sure someone will come out with a kit to replace the bulbs with a higher wattage or something, or to replace the entire lamp assembly.....and im pretty sure i've seen a bunch of 1st gens with lights in the fairing, and people loved it!....but to each his own

i also don't understand how it looks like a new liberty? my girlfriend has a new liberty, which looks like a mini commander.....and i dont see any resemblance between the 09 X and the commander/liberty.....to me the 09 X looks like a re-designed X, with a few new tweaks/toys....sure, it has headlights, taillights....and.....thats about where the similarities stop and the X begins.....but again, to each his own.....

i also don't understand how the X is getting away from the original "everything you need, nothing you don't" motto.....its still utilitarian, its still offroad capable, its still meant for outdoorsmen and extreme sports fanatics, and most of all, its still an X.... if we wanted TJs, we all would've gotten TJs.....we got Xs because we like what they had to offer, especially what they had to offer over Jeeps....which are still features offered today...think about the features offered in the second gen....VDC! Cluth Bypass! Electric Rear Locker! Bilsteins! Roof Lights! These are all features that, while we may not absolutely NEED them, theyre definetly things we would love to have! .....but once again, to each his own.....

bottom line(atleast in my mind) is people need to stop comparing the X to wranglers and such.....they weren't meant to be the same thing - if they were, the x would have 2 removable doors, a soft top, roll bar, and no AC)....its an SUV that just so happens to have excellent offroad prowess, good looks, and a cult following, NOT some muted/diluted 4 door wrangler with some extra goodies and gadgets....its a damn Xterra!

i think we all need to take a step back and think about what nissan is doing to further the platform, rather than standing around bitching about how its not a first gen.....

Every Xterra model since the ?00 and ?01 with the square headlights has taken more than a few steps in the wrong direction. There was so much potential in those first two years and Nissan dropped the ball. The ?01?s are actually the best and the rest suck, ?09, the worst so far.

HAHAHA!!! We didn't say that it looks like a Jeep Liberty....we said that the molded lights are LIKE the Jeep Liberty.

And Gene and Tom....my headlights are square too....just BIGGER. (yes, the ones on my truck!)

i'm not sure if i pissed off that guy in the van that i cut off earlier
if i did i am sorry

not a fan of the new 09 armad... pathfi....
oh thats an Xterra ?

i thought the real xterra had round headlights.

just kidding.

i have seen some cool looking second gens out here... nothing on any showroom floor though.

to me love started in 00 so i grew liking to the square headlights, so the new squares dont bother me, but once the round lights came out i was like "oh sh!t" and "mine, mine, mine, mine mineminemineminemine....." and that was totally stock.

then i found this place...
and i am like "AMP !!!!!! ENERGY XTERRA !"
i can't quit buying junk for my truck now.

something tells me that the two little ass lights on the roof better flash when my alarm is set/ unset in the parking lot so i can see over the tops of all the other piles of sh!t around me.

not a fan of 09... yet.
let me see what one looks like if a few of u get ahold of one...
i might change my mind then.

i love the four door jeep freakin whatever it is...
not the liberty, the jeep jeep...
the wrangler rubicon.

i am trying to talk the wife out of trading her car in on one seeing how her car is sooo pretty, and they will give her great trade in value...
(reverse psychology)

i am not sure if ur still reading this so i will type me favorite horses name to bet on
" Cunning Stunt "

still not a drop dead fan of the 05...

Nicely written (you're so friggin' funny!)...

The 4-door is a JK (we used to say it stood for "just kidding" cuz they could POSSIBLY have made a Jeep with 4 doors!) and they are AWESOME. Especially modified. Our friend Bobby did a lot of work to his and it is smokin'.

My favorite horse to bet on is "Glue Stick". MWA-HA-HAAA-HAAA!

There was an attempt made with the Off road model with the 32" tires, rear locker, and a 265 HP V6,. But they screwed it up by putting in a mickey mouse front diff, a twist knob to engage 4wd, and crappy clutch just. to name a few.

Oh! and IFS

I'm just wondering how long it's gonna be from here on till the Xterra is no longer a 4wd vehicle, but an All wheel Drive one instead..

Not sure about the All Wheel switch,  but since most all vehicles are considered/named for a female by the guys... Guess round headlights are the best option for the Xterra. Guy's truck with a girlfriend for a truck who goes offroading. Beyond XX who has named her truck "Pete" (at least if I am remembering correctly) I guess all of you guys with the 00 & 01s have a cross dressing truck huh??
