Someone else asked that on thenewx, Anthony. Having seen the Shrock bumper on some next gens, I think that middle piece could be tucked safe behind the bumper, rather than resting on top of it. That's how some of them are now.

The grille is just plain ugly and the lights molded like that reminds me too much of a Liberty..

They took what ruggedness (is that a word?) that was left and made it to smoothe....I prefer the look of the first generation X over the 2nd generation and beyond,I'm not saying the 2nd Gen.X is ugly or anything,I just think the first gen.X look better.

those lights probably dont do jack sh*t either as far as brightness, just like any stock fogs
