So how bad is it if I go down in tire size?

Stock the 05 comes with 265/70/16, 30.6" (I believe) tires. A guy down the street has some 245/75/16....about 10 of them. I was thinking about picking up 5 of them and running street tires. These equate to 30.5".

I've gone up 2" in tire size and it changed my speedo, I would imagine going down .1" will affect my speedo by minimal. Is there anything else I should look into?

hahaha

I drive 13 miles round trip but I do a lot of driving on weekends. So I'm thinking going this route to help the gas situation.

I'm getting 17 mpg. Unless I drive like an a-hole (beating people off lights,
doing over 75, etc, the usual that gets you bad mileage) then it's worse. But
I'm consistent at 17 mpg. (I drive 24 miles a day...well worth living out here
in farm land....away from the general public!)

If stock tires help...I say do it. We need to do something. Im even scanning
Craigs List for a beater to drive to and from work.

Thats pretty damn close... I think I gotcha beat though... In a couple of days I will have to step out my front door, cross a street and I'm at work... so I should be getting about 100 mpg right? 8) But that only means I am one step closer to be living in New England!!!
