I am looking to get one for airing up on the trails and I found a 2 gallon air tank with compressor. So I need your advice.. is that going to be enough? What does everyone else have, or do you all have just a compressor(no tank) that you hook up to your battery?

I have a husky compressor (no tank) that I used before I got my Powertank. It is slow, but worked pretty well and stowed under my passenger seat. I still keep it in the X since it stows away so well.

Pretty much anything will be strong enough, our tires don't have much pressure. Where the expense comes in is volume. A lot of the el-cheepo compressors work great, it just may take 1/2 hour or longer to air up four tires.

So, unless you want to spend $300 or more; or get CO2, one of those inexpensive cigarette lighter ones will work fine for years. You just need to have patience. That why I usually fill 5 or 6 truck's tires when I go offroading. CO2 can fill all the tires on ten trucks in less time than most compressors.

I have a viair 450c compressor and 5 gallon tank. And it's nice. It's not quite as fast as co2, but i never have to get it refilled.

I have the Tsunami that you can find at PepBoys for $50 and it works really well for a small compressor.

A couple other people are running this as well

I have a powertank setup with two tanks.

I have a compressor as backup, but CO2 is the way to go

I'm sure there will be some Power Tank certificates at the B2SR again this year. Could way and go for one of those for dirt cheap.

I bring two tanks so that we can fill tires quickly.

It lets us get back to the campsite sooner so that we can start drinking sooner

Do you know what the pressure output of the compressor is? That'll tell us how much air is in the tank...

His tank is a CO2 tank...

You won't be able to fill a propane tank with CO2.

I do have a 15# CO2 tank with Valve (no regulator or valve handle) availible - I'm willing to part with it (full of CO2) for $90
