Where'd you find that?

VAXC. He was out of the truck, must have left it out of gear and it went rolling into the Chesapeak Bay. Totally submerged.

Wow. Makes TJ's little oops look a little more bearable.
I wonder if it's totalled out.
Looks like the Katrina footage. Pretty frightening.

From VAXC:
"Today, i went to pohic bay park in the lorton va area. I was fishing, and needed to go back to my truck to get my smokes and my cell phone as i was going to call my pops to come and join me. Well, i shut the door, and walked away, and got about 10 paces, and then i heard the quy next to me yell hey, your car. So i turn around, and what do i see, my truck rolling down the hill, and Splash! into the water. So i start running, and get to the front door as it is already up to the running boards and still going, and yep, i couldnt open the door, because like i always do, i lock them when i leave it. So i just stoped and watched it slowly submurge itself fully into the bay. the only thing that i could see was the roof rack"

That is a complete bummer. Wonder who had to swim and attach the tow cable?
Nevermind I read the post. I love the talk of people taking their CRV off road. I own a CRV and there is no way that sucker should be off road. A gravel driveaway yes at PAP, no.
However, it does quite well in the snow.

I see a lot of Rav4's and CRV's at the local LI beaches. They do better than the Explorers I've recovered. LOL
Maybe the CRV and Rav4 owners realize that they have no business being there and they try not to do anything stupid. LOL
His e-brake probably wasnt adjusted tight enough and the brakes wore in. Should have left it in gear, sounds like it was a 5 speed.
My e-brake hasnt worked properly in the past year or so due to the rear brakes being shot.
Never rely entirely on the e-brake, especially on a hill.
That just flat out sucks though..
Especially watching it sink and not being able to do anything about it.
