The driver's seat belt on my 2001 is starting to tear. It's basically the spot where the belt rubs against the upper hanger while I'm driving. It needs to go in for the yearly MA inspection and would hate for this to be the reason that it fails.'

Luckily, it's under warranty!

Has anyone gone through this replacement before? Stories on the internet say that because the part isn't available new, they have to buy the vehicle back rather than repair it. That would really suck.

This is one of the reasons I asked yesterday what dealerships around MA are supportive of Xterras. If I took this into my local dealer I'm sure they would try to the invoke the "past the useful life of the vehicle" even though it's only got 115k miles. It's probably worth the hour drive to Raynham if they'll take it seriously.

That sucks. I believe you'd need to source the part(s) from a junkyard and replace it on your own unless you're willing to accept the buyback option you heard about. I've never experienced or heard about that but the last time I looked the "bluebook value" was around $3500. Doesn't seems fair.

If anyone has a line on a gen 1 Xterra in a parts yard around MA, please tell me.

@NoDesertInMA

You can check local yards here: https://www.car-part.com/

I have used that a few times to get body panels and other parts that are harder to find or too big to be worth shipping. I'd imagine Frontiers of the same year would be the same parts too and maybe a bit easier to find

car-part.com is a good resource. On the search results it shows the name of the place. There are a bunch of yards around eastern MA with Xterras.

Checkout Everett's in Brockton. They're a big used car parts place.

Call Mastria Nissan and see what they say about the warranty.
