Since its been so dry and the trails have been able to dry, has anyone hit the trails yet? I have done a couple road rides. I've been too tired to go off road, between work and the kids kicking my ass with hours and hours of baseball I've been wiped!

My bike is getting fixed this weekend, finally. So I'm hoping to hit the trails soon. Gotta get back in biking shape though. I'm strictly in lifting, basketball shape.

The first couple rides always suck. Gotta break off the rust!

Getting out today. Bike is all ready; I'm woefully out of shape.

My bike...I love it.

I've been riding around my neck of the woods,I don't have a mountain bike anymore.I use to have a cheap Huffy wannabe mountain bike that was not a bad bike at all,but I gave it to a friend of mine's kid.I do however have 3 BMX bikes.2 old school Schwinn Predators (both from 1983) and a Schwinn 24 Inch BMX Cruiser that I ride around through some trails near my house.I would like to get another mountain bike someday.

here is my cruiser:

here are my 2 Predators:

here is a link for more pics and info on my bikes:

all 3 of my bikes are listed in the BMX Museum web site as well.

I haven't done to much biking in the last couple years. My bike has been somewhat neglected. I should get it tuned up and get back on it.

I rode my bike to work on Tuesday... and rode the rest of the week!!!

I figured that if I ride 5 days a week to work that I would save $20 in gas and more for other vehicle costs...

Well the bikes are dropped off today. Hopefully will get them back in a couple weeks and can get out! Looking forward to hitting the trails.

Dropped off? Man, if you can put a new drive train in your truck, replace brakes, etc., you can fix and maintain your own bike for cheap.

Just like service manuals, you just need a little guide to help you through and a few specialized tools. One trip to the bike shop for repair and you can pay for all the essential special tools you will need.

My choice for help:

http://www.parktool.com/repair/

http://www.utahmountainbiking.com/fix/

http://www.bikewebsite.com/

http://www.jimlangley.net/wrench/wrench.html

http://www.kenkifer.com/bikepages/skills/repair.htm

A quick Google search came up with almost the same list. Bikes are simple machines and easy to tune-up and repair. Just like trucks, it is sometimes frustrating to find the fix, but, unlike trucks, it is all out there in the open. Almost no hidden parts. A little reading and you'll be an expert in no time.

:D

Scott, I dropped it off at the guys house that does all the Police Department bikes. Not costing me a cent and I don't have to do it. :)

Got to find some trails in my area. Heard of a nice park nearby. Waiting for decent weather on a weekend I am not busy.

it's dead....NO!!!

Talked to the guy today and he said it's not worth fixing. The rear wheel is all bent to heck. The rear derailer doesn't work and my shifter is broken as well.

He said for the cost of parts you could get a new bike. :(
