Here is a shot of the water line in the front floor you can see the lighter carpet above the line.
Here are a couple pics. of one of the self modified/blown rod ends.
After taking the old engine apart again I found out why it died on the highway.
There was one piece of connecting rod still sitting up in the engine when I put it back together on the trail.
Once we got going down the highway it vibrated out of it's spot and the crank caught it and threw it into the engine block and cracked the cyl wall.
the coolant mixed in the oil and that was it.
If I had seen that one piece It might still have made it home under it's own power.
