For anyone interested, there is a motorcycle rally/Octoberfest at Hunter Mountain (NY) on October 2-4. Admission is free, and camping is available for a nominal fee. Ok, so no Nexterra MC run in almost two years. Time to do one. I will be going to the Color in the Catskills rally this year, Sept. 30 to Oct 2, 2011. Here is a link to more info. http://www.huntermtn.com/huntermtn/fest ... s-bmw.aspx It is held at Hunter Mountain in the Catskills. All brands are welcome. Plenty of good riding in the area. It is a combined motorcycle rally and Octoberfest. I had a good time in the past at this rally. It can be done as a day trip, or you can make it an overnight affair. On-site camping is available at minimal cost, or there are some decent motels to stay at. In particular, there is a nice mom-and-pop operated motel/restaurant about 5 minutes from the rally site that I have stayed at before -- they have the best German/Continental cuisine I have ever had. If anyone want to do an overnight staying at a motel, I recommend this motel, just contact me. If anyone is interested in joining me on this run, post up here and let me know if you want to do it as a one day run or an overnight rally. I will probably ride up on Saturday, but am not adverse to going up on Friday and making a long weekend of it. k_enn |
