I make my own spiedie sauce based on the chicken: 1-2 lbs of london broil or about any other meat (chicken, lamb, goat, venison, woodchuck, Dagger) cubed in bite-sized chunks 1 medium onion 1 green pepper good rolls Marinade 1/2 cup of vegetable oil 1 cup vinegar 3 tablespoons of course mustard 1 tablespoon salt lots of pepper 1 tsp of red pepper flakes 1 tablespoon ground coriander Throw in any other spice that sounds good to you In a medium bowl Mix the marinade will with a whisk or electric mixer place the meat chunks in the marinade and place in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Place the marinaded meat in a wire gilling container or put on skewers and put on the grill. Grill for 10 to 15 min turning frequently. Meanwhile sweat the chopped up onion and pepper in a skillet with a tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat for five to ten minutes; salt and pepper to taste. I don't like them overcooked or too soft. On the buttered rolls, cover with the meat and veggies and serve. If you've never had spiedies, you have to try it. |

I have tried making these a few times before from and internet recipe I found and they came out good. But I'm gonna have to try this recipe. Thanks Scott!! Oh and those who don't know Speedie's are awesome. I remember Micah introduced me to them a few years back at either one of UNYX's runs or ECXC (I can't remember) and have loved them since. |

Never tried making my own marinade. I'll need to give that a shot. If you want to buy it pre-made, I recommend you visit http://www.spiedie.com And to do them right, you need to serve them on a piece of Italian bread! |
