i'm def. still going, but i've got a question. my tires rub pretty good up front...how far is it frm the meeting place to the trailhead? will we be hitting the trails as soon as we get there? i'm thinking i may want/need to run fenderless. thoughts?

Church, the trailhead is about 10 min. on the highway from the meeting spot

There will be some flexing all day, so good tire clearance is needed.

can you crank the t-bars up any more?

fenderless is good too

I still haven't found the time to do my PML, between work and pickin' up the baby from daycare, then holding down the fort at home...

...ugh, haha.

So no, it doesn't look like I'll be able to do any adjustments to my truck. I scoped out the bolts holding the fenders today at lunch, I honestly don't think they'll take all that long to undo once we get to the trail.

I just don't want to hold the group up once we get there.

But, I also don't want to mess my body up by not removing the fenders.

I think I'm just gonna run it fenderless.

Sounds good, don't worry there is always plenty of time before we get started.

Hey guys! We'll be there!!!

Looks like your meeting spot is the Crack (Cracker Barrel): They sell the Wounded Warrior T's and tags in the retail section.
My wife and I will be wearing ours!

It will be great to see you guys again!....oh and Ernie... I'm bringing some chili!

I'll have my camp stove too, for anyone who needs to heat stuff up. It should be a nice (humid?) day, so as recommended a few posts back, bring your bug spray! Check yourselves for ticks when you get home after the run, especially the little ones!

It is true that some decent damage was incurred at the Pine Tree hill climb, but Jay and I determined that there's enough room to go around. I'll be bringing some tape and stakes to post it off until we can get in there for damage control. I don't see us doing much, if any, in terms of repairs during your visit, because YOU guys are coming down to have fun. A work day is in being planned soon. NexTerra has always been great with Tread Lightly! and respecting the land and I want you all to have a great time.

That said, I want to let you know that the skidders have been in there to resume logging, so the main trails have taken a beating in that respect (IMO, they do an exponential amount of greater damage than we do). The trails are pretty muddy, so the guys running AT type tires are probably going to need a bit of wheel speed in some spots. I anticipate some drying in the next couple of days though. Despite the recent damage, I don't want you guys worrying about having to pussyfoot around. We live in New England, and run muddy trails. It's the excessive abuse and when to make the call (winch / strap / turn around) that turned the hill into a mess.

Regarding the meeting spot...I'm not sure if my daughter is working yet (she forgot to check her hours  ) and I'm not sure when we'll be dropping her off. I think it will be easier for us to meet you all at the trail head at 9:45/10:00, unless you guys need help getting there. Let me know.

I'm very much looking forward to it! See you all there!
-Joe

Yeah man! I don't have quite the drive that you two do, but the X is ready to go! Cooler is packed, gonna get ice on the way out tomorrow...snacks are loaded up, tank is full, extra camera batteries are ready, waiver is printed and signed. Let's do this!

See everyone in the mornin'. :D

Will: I dunno when you'll be at the Ludlow rest stop, but I'm leaving a little early to leave extra time for holiday traffic. I may text you in the a.m., or you can feel free to do the same.

For anyone else who may be meeting at the Ludlow stop: 413-883-9349
