I dont hit the socket itself. i hit the knuckle where the ball joint slides through.

And unfortunetly mechanics will always disagree.

I only say hitting the knuckle is better becuase i've F'ed up a couple TREs. I will say they were NOT new parts, so there was some prior wear, just no play until i went at it with a hammer.

Scott was there a noticeable difference in the handling of the truck? Does the front end seem tighter?

Yes, it stopped the clunking that I couldn't find and the occasional slight darting. Then again, the whole front end is new, except shocks and UCA bushings. But after this weekend, they will be replaced as well. Alignment on Monday. It should drive like new.

One of my shocks was toast when I took it apart this weekend. I had already ordered the UCA bushings from Calmini.

Going to do my drivers side on Sunday.
