I have always used the valvoline blend as I never tow that often to justify the cost of the high end stuff. every time I change it it looks like I could have gone much longer. |

I agree with Smitty. If you are wheeling your truck in mud and water, it's not a bad idea to change it more often. While I have never found any evidence of water intrusion, I change it at least once a year. I use the Valvoline synthetic 75W-90 which is about $5.50 a quart. No oil does well if water is in there. |

what is is 3 or 4 quarts? I can't remember and I don't have the manual handy. |
