Well if the route does change around the TZ Bridge please advise, as last year's route had that as one of the meet spots and I was planning on meeting everyone around there.

true...
I only think about the traffic and towing a trailer.
But, as long as we're able to keep to the 70mph range, it shouldn't be a problem for me.

Well here's the route we've pretty much taken. Well since I've been going. ;)

We all met up at the Milford service station Just past exit 41 on 95 South. That's right past 91 for those coming from the North.

So here's the meetup details.

Milford Service Station After exit 41 on 95 South
95 South
287 West
78 West
Exit 1A off 78 W. onto I81 North
to the Lickdale campground exit.

Now if you guys punch in to go directly to the campground it'll have you guys going right thru NYC. So what I had always did was when leaving the Service station I put in Suffern,NY as next destination. And that would take us directly over the TZ and onto 287 W.. Once on 287 I would just punch in the campground from there and it would take us the way we wanted to go.. ;)

Hope this helps.. ;)

Count me in on the Caravan

Just need to know what time to meet up with you kids.

As far as towing the X and being worried about holding people up. I don't care what Speed we are going as long as the final destination is ECXC.

I'll also miss you guys as well

sounds like we might have enough of a group to build a caravan...

So, let's get names...
Since traffic will be a problem for part of the ride, lets plan on meeting up by 7a and leaving by 7:30a.

Do you want to meet at 7am at the milford service station? Or are you saying 7am you want to start the trip more north at a different location. I believe we met around 10 at the milford station last year and that worked ok. any thoughts?

Also can people post where they can meet along the trip and maybe we have about 2 or 3 service ares we pick up everyeone ...

I'm leaving from Newport, RI this year so we don't need to stop at that BS service station in NJ like last year.

Give me a time and place and I'll be there.

This is the post from last year and I think it can still work:

OK gang here's the route I looked for heading down to ECXC.

Meeting time: 9:00 a.m.

1st meeting spot: Milford Service Station
http://www.ctrestareas.org/flash_image_ ... I95SB.html
Location: 95 Southbound just past exit 41
Notes: This is one of those service stations off the side of the road. It's also right after exit 41 as stated above and right after where I91 runs into 95S for all that are coming from points North.
Departing time: 9:30 a.m. Sharp!

From there we will be going down to 287 and over the Tappan Zee bridge towards the town of Suffern,NY (which is what I'm putting on to my GPS as a point) arriving at our 2nd meeting spot which will be listed below. And that's where we'll be meeting up with Dave (XterraVT). This leg has and estimated travel time of 2:30 hours.

Meeting time: 12:00 noon (roughly)
2nd meeting spot: Shell Station
Location: 152 Morris St, Morristown, NJ
Notes: This will be the final pit stop until we get to the campground. Also this is where we'll be meeting up with Dave. This is a gas station so we can fill up there and head down to the campground.
Departing time: 12:30 p.m. Sharp!

From there we will continue on our last leg of our journey. And from this meeting spot should take us roughly 2:00 hours travel time. with and estimated arrival time at the campground being roughly around 2:30 pm. Giving everyone plenty of daylight to set up tents and what not.

Now remember these time frames are rough estimates and not exact. They was provided by the maps and I figure with us traveling a little faster than the suggested times, we'll make it there a little sooner (hopefully).

If anyone has any questions or comments or suggestions please feel free to ask me. You can either do it here or send me a PM or an e-mail to RIXterra@NEXterra.org

Also if you don't have my cell # then please feel free to send me a PM or e-mail and I will give it to ya. If there's any problems you can contact me or if your just running late.

Also if anyone has a time suggestion please say it. We could always move the time up or down and hour. The choice is yours..

the exception is that we won't need to meet Dave at that service station..

since I'll be towing, I'd like to keep on the highway as much as possible.

So, how does that look?

So far, there looks to be 5 of us meeting up, which isn't bad.

Well the only thing I can see missing is meeting up with me. 8) This is easily fixed if someone could just let me know anywhere along I287/I87 (before the bridge) where they would want to meet. Anywhere from the I95 NYS border, I287 and to the bridge. We could meet at my job location (440 Mamaroneck Ave, 10528) but that would take everyone further south than needed by 20 minutes. I also plotted out the route and posted this mapshare directions. Just hope they're close to being correct.
