Post subject:  Gutter Closure Notice

As of right now this may be the last year for the Gutter Trail
Extreme pressure from the state has caused the Cowls to consider closing the Trail permanently next year :(

This seems to be the way things are going, unfortunately. Five years ago there were more than 20 trails that were accessible, both clearly legal and some questionable. Now, all but a few a gated.

It's both the tree huggers and the lawyers, or the fear of liability that close trails as well as the idiots who leave garbage all over the trails. A few private trails have been closed due to asshats cutting trees and steeling firewood.

what a shame.
I've been keeping my eye out for property that might be viable to wheel on if we work the property, but so far, there's not a lot that might be fun to wheel as it's either too easy or too small.

There has been a few properties in the works for the NEA but either they want crazy money + ins. to wheel thier land
SSR in R.I. wants $4,000 a year + ins. for 113 acers shared with riding camp horses
or it's not large enough to make it workable for multiple clubs.
and the state wants to call them a buisness for tax money$$$

The JonFund just purchased the last private land the NEA was working on.
They seem to have very large and deep pockets.
