Are all magnaflow mufflers similar sound wise?

What the subject says lol. I was wondering if the only difference in part numbers were the inlet and outlet placement. For example I originally got magnaflow 11226 because of the sound reviews I saw but the muffler shop I went to said the offset/center didn't work on my X because he would have to bend the tailpipe side which would cause a lot of restriction. So I returned that and got the magnaflow 14236 which is offset/offset like the original muffler. Will the sound between the two be similar? Only difference is the inlet/outlet placement, correct?

were you at the ecxc? I have a magnaflow 44 on my sexy truck....It sounds insane from the inside, and I have gotten a couple of compliments. Make sure whatever you get, you have speakers to blare your music :lol:

Magnaflow 44? Do you mean the flowmaster 44? I've never heard of a magnaflow 44 Haha. The flowmasters do sound pretty freaking mean though!

Haha it's all good! Personally I think they are all the same with flowmaster having more of a gurgling sound to them

You can get quiet MagnaFlow mufflers if you want. There are different models with different sounds.

I got the performance model, I wasn't able to find much information on it though.

So I installed it today and it's really loud. I hear the muffler sound through the floor right above the muffler. It's not the sound coming from the exhaust opening but from the actual muffler. Anything I can do about that?

Put some dyna mat under the carpet or get some ear plugs. It will most likely get louder after you run it a while.

I had my muffler shop weld a j pipe on right before the muffler and now it sounds amazing! I'll put some videos up soon
