Hey,

I have a friend (she is cute) who has just been given her mom's Gen 1 Xterra. She was told by a mechanic that the Catalytic convertors may need replacing.

Can you recommend, from experience, a good auto repair shop in or around Boston that can take a look at it and if needed it fix it? She is worried about getting ripped off.

I'll see her over the w/e so I can find out more about whats wrong with it.

I'm trying to talk her into coming on the Dec the 3rd run :D

Thanks
Dave

I'm sure there are enough people here who could help out. I'm no mechanic, so I have no idea what it entails to fix a catalytic converter, but I'm willing to lend a hand.

Her mom lost power and could only go 10mph. She had it towed but the garage couldn't replicate it. No codes no check engine light?

It seems to be running okay now. Talked her into coming next Sat.
