So i currently have the Bilstein 5100 shocks but the are limiting my travel. So im going to upgrade to the Bilstein 5150 shocks and i was wondering the valving that everyone is running or what is the best?

255/70 Valving
or
170/60 Valving

I found this information:
Quote:
255/70: This valving is designed for single shock application with a medium ride quality, ideal for replacement shocks. This shock is a great match for aftermarket lift kits. The monotube nitrogen shock offers significantly better ride characteristics than the typical hydraulic oil filled shock.

170/60: This valving is great for use in pairs for a double shock combination. This valving has a softer ride characteristic but when paired they offer substantial ride control.

From that description i would go with the 255/70 valving... So just let me know your thoughts if you have any.

I would say the 255/70 valving would be your best bet. I would think the 170/60 would be to soft of a ride on and off road. Unless you were going to make a dual shock set up?!!

With all your armor, I would think the 170/60 set up would compress too much while off roading and you would bash your junk off the rocks. No one likes their junk bashed.
