OK so I would like to know if anyone else is having the same problem I am. Over the last couple of years I would hear this creaking noise that sounds like its coming from somewhere in the steering column, at first I only noticed it when wheeling and front end would flex out. Now I hear this all the time, street or wheeling. I thought that once the recall for the steering column shaft was done it would cure it but it hasnt. Does anyone have this and know what it is or am I the only one?

Try rubbing a little grease on the spline shaft. That flexes a little and my be where your noise is coming from. I would spray the shaft with silicone spray or something similar. There are two places that it can flex, and then add grease for a long term solution. Give it a try with some sort of lubricating spray first and see if it goes away.

Also, try tightening the set bolts while you are in there.

Also, check your front sway bar.. if the bushings are loose, you could have play there, which would cause some noise.

I've been hearing some creaking lately. I'm pretty sure it's just my A arm bushings saying it's too cold out. It does happen when I turn but only when I'm cornering hard enough to induce body roll. It seems to happen over bumps but only when the temp is 10 or under. I have noticed it when it's a little warmer after I wash it.
I never heard it until I did my PML so I figured it was just the bushings being in a different position than they were worn in to.
Both my lower control arms and bushings have been replaced.
Now that you mention it, it does seem odd it would still be happening. I did my PML about a year ago. Everything should have settled in by now.
If you figure it out will you post it please?

i get it sometimes when turning all the way in one direction. It tends to be the centerlink rubbing on something. not really a big deal but i just try not to turn all the way. Thats what i found but yours might be different.

Could be a big deal if it rubs on your oil filter like mine does!
Did you fix it Tiff?

I havent looked at it yet.. I spent to much time snowmobiling yesterday (it was worth it though). I am going to NY again for work so it might be a couple more weeks til I start taking things apart. I will let everyone know what I find though!
