--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

my intentions are to build something like this...

You mean something like this?

It changed since that pic from Moab.
I now have my hi-lift bolted to the passenger side of the carrier vertically,
and the left side can hold a full size gerry can, and I have a large cooler that fits on top (actually two different ones that fit, one normal and one electric).

Hahahah.. I guess you heard about my squeaky rear tire carrier..LOL.. It was annoying as hell for a while, then it just stopped out of nowhere..

Anyway, I was refering to CRAZ4SNO's post about building a Jeep trail rack add-on, gas can, cooler carrier over a spare tire carrier.
And unless he builds it from scratch, I'd advise him against using a jeep trail rack without sand blasting it and repainting it..
Mine rusted to all hell. I can pull big pieces of the powdercoating off. I have to sand it down and POR-15 it to save it.

Dagger,
Get your Shrock bumper yet? ;)

I know this may sound kind of dumb, but does this back bumper have a license plate light??? I know there are a few small town cops around my neck of the woods that use the old "Your light on your plate is out" as an excuse to pull people over at night...can you be ticketed for not having a light on your plate??? I know you can get a ticket if it's out (which usually gets tossed out anyway)...just curious.

You have to reuse your old license plate light for most replacement rear bumpers. I cut and spliced wires to extend it to the middle of my spare tire.
I rode around without a rear license plate light for probably about a year. I never got pulled over for it. But then again, they could have pulled me over. In fact I got pulled over at a checkpoint for an expire inspection, it was only 6 months expired.
I digress.. Yes you can get a ticket for not having a light over your plate, or even an improperly hung license plate.
