I need to have my rear bumpstops welded to the frame. One of the bolts had broken, and the other one was working its way loose. I talked to a local welder, who also teaches welding at our BOCES and he said, have your students do it. A little leary, I had one of them drive it up to the Occupational Center this morning to have it done. Anyway, they did a great job on the welds. Nice and clean.
I find my keys on my desk along with pictures they took of themselves working on it. Also, posted around the school are pictures of my truck with "For sale, 2000 Xterra: $500 or best offer." Made me laugh like hell. Of course I had to find them in class and make them think I was mad. They didn't buy it...I get no respect. Anyway, it made for a great day. They thought it was great to work on my truck and I made a great connection with some kids.
For those of you who think the world is going to hell with the way kids are today, you are wrong. They are much better than when I was in school.
