Title kind of says it all. I can get one side into the bumper bracket just fine. The driver side i couldn't get the holes to line up with the bumper bracket and the frame. And the two open slots towards the rear of the vehicle don't appear to line up with anything, certainly no threaded holes. Any ideas? Right now the plate is being held on by three bolts, one of which is in there only as an intentional cross thread. Pics to come.

I think I had to slot one of mine a little. I think mine was on the driver side. I did get my skid second hand from a Member that received one with his new bumper. He didn’t need to clearance the skid for his frame. Must just be a little variance off the production line.

What is the appropriate tool to open up the slots?

I think I offset a hole with a pilot drill bit then opened it up until it met the main hole with larger and larger bits. Then a dremel, a grinder or the edge of a drill bit to remove the ‘horns’ left between the two.

Ok, I got you. I'll use a step drill and then I'll try the dremel routing tip. May not be strong enough but I can always grind if I have to.

I’ve had luck with the dremel in the past. It’s good for what it does. Something like this would involve patience more than anything.

Needs to come off to be painted anyway though there's no way I get this done by NER. Fingers crossed I don't f**k up my skid

I used a unibit, where I could start a new hole and grinder where I couldn't.

I made special washers to cover the holes.

Sounds like between the tolerances of the skids and the tolerance of our frames, misalignments aren't totally uncommon.
