So after the Mill run I pressure washed the truck.
I saw some oil stains on the rear axle housing under the spring perch on the right side.
Did the... Hummm?
So the housing is cracked and leaking fluid
It is also crushed under the spring perch on the right side..
28 years of rust and abuse from me has taken it's toll.
My plan is to cut off that 1/2 of the axle housing
and replace that section with one from my parts rearend.
sleeve it and weld it all back up.

Pics. to follow soon.

This should be interesting for sure.
For what ever reason this does not work out...
I still have one more rear axle housing to use out of the big 4runner.
But I would have to cut off the upper link setup and spring perches
then re-clock the axle for this one.

Either way I'll be giving it a good work out on the 4th.
and
I'm glad that I found it at home now , then out on the trails at Rausch.. :bang:
Ok here we go....
The crack and leak

Found this too..

So.. Now you see it...

and Now you Don't..

The point of no return and the bent shock mount...

More pics. of my progress coming soon.

Ernie, maybe it's time to just finish the big 4Runner and run that bad boy on the trails.
