Finally had a weekend to myself to replace the track bar, drag link & tie rod on the Jeep....

Track bar install - got the old one off, the bushing on the frame-end looked shot. Hopefully that was the cause of my death wobble issues.
Track bar end that looks like it's seen better days:

Tie rod - removed the old one (BFH helped), prepped the new one.

and then the damn Drag link - the axle side came out with a few whacks of the BFH. But the end connect to the pitman arm....arrgggg.... will not budge. BFH, PB blaster, pickle fork...nothing works. I'm hoping I didn't damage the steering with the hammering. Borrowed a few ball join separators from Autozone but none work because there no room to stick them on top of the bolt.
In the pic it looks like there's plenty of room but the cross member is just a few inches above the bolt.

Anyways, I've left it soaking in PB blaster now. Ordered this from Amazon (Ball Joint Separator), which should work with the limited space. None of my local store have this kind.

Two days of bumming rides to work is going to suck. Oh well...

The removal tools usually do not work..
Take the drag link pass side and bring it up as high as you can bunge cord ect.
put the nut on the pitman arm side 1-2 threads this is to keep it from dropping on you... :bang:
turn the wheel all the way to the left to bring the arm out.
find a BFH/ small sledge or a.. dead blow 40oz hammer ( the Best)
2-3 hits should pop it right out.
from the looks you were hitting the drag ling and the arm defeating the effect. :(

This GearWrench 3916D Universal Ball Joint Separator https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003YVWHOE/re ... fwbTTZN432 worked. The drag link bolt came loose with what sounded like a gunshot... Half scared me to death. Installed all the new stuff last night. Will update some comparison pics over the weekend.
Need to get an alignment & I'll be good to go.

Now I know who I can borrow the separator tool from!!

Did you upgrade or just go with stock replacements?

Upgraded to the Teraflex HD track bar, drag link & tie rod. With an aftermarket clamp to fit the larger diameter tie rod & a Fox steering stabilizer.

The new parts are working well. Haven't experienced any death wobble & the steering feels a lot tighter now. Looks like a bad bushing on the track bar was the cause.

Now the jeep pulls slightly to the left though, even after the alignment. The new Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer I had bought is pressurized & hence always wants to expand to it's fullest. Apparently this is what's causing the Jeep to want to pull left. Did not know this when I bought it, so either have to live with the pull or buy a new one. Going to give it a few days before I decided what to do. An option is to go without one, but since this is my daily driver & having experiencing death wobble, I do not want to drive without one.

Other than that small & livable issue, everything is good. Even changed the rear brake pads. I'm ready for the supporting members run next week!

It is a common mistake that steering stablizers and shocks are the same animal.
steering stableizers shouldn't be gas charged like a shock
and they should be neutral in valving as well..50/50
the only way that one could work is in a dual shock set up with one apposing the other.
