Not the best one, but it's a cobra, and will be able to keep up with the group. I bought a male end 12v cigarette lighter plug to tie into, instead of hard wiring it. Knowing my luck I'd fry everything before the event. So, installing that tomorrow after work with my toes crossed. Other than figuring out Friday night's supper plan and breakfast, sat morning, I think I've got everything ready for the event and camping.

I went the same route, but with a Uniden. Picked up a 2' magnetic antenna (center load). Hoping to have the range to keep in touch with the GG crew.

You should be good car to car, depending how large the group is. CB sucks, bottom line. People need to get on board with GMRS and for some even Amatuer. With GMRS you can get pretty far with a repeater and Amatuer, well, there isn’t much of a limit if you have the right gear and license
