I've got a little bit of money coming my way ($1,100) from me hitting the deer.

I've got a few options that I'm looking at using it for.

1) Shrock Rear bumper
2) Shrock Rear bumper w/ winch - not a crazy winch (some money out of pocket)
3) Nice winch, line, and battery upgrade
4) Payoff a nice chunk of debt.
5) Rainy day fund
6) Offer your own idea...

#2 what would you guys recommend for a couple hundred bucks and where from?

What do you guys think?

if you already have a trailer hitch, wait on the rear.

if your winch cable are still in good shape, wait on them.

paying debt is always a good feeling, even if there is nothing to show for it.

#2 im not sure what you already have on your truck

I'd get a good winch and synthetic line. While the Shrock rear bumper is nice, it doesn't add as much to your offroading ability.

Are you just going with the Bumper w/o tire carrier?

If you want to keep the spare on the roof then get the Bumper only and sell the Hitch for a few extra bucks.

Then get a Winch for the front bumper. I went with a MM8000 and it has done me and a few others well on the trail. I know you are supposed to go 1 1/2 x the trucks weight to be safe. I am not the kind of wheeler that gets into a situation that needs more than this winch to get me out.

Depending on where you order the winch from they may have free shipping and this would leave you with a few extra bucks left over for an upgraded battery.

I'll be the devil on the left shoulder.

Don't you still need a gas Skid as well?

oops, read it wrong. well a winch isnt all that necessary at first. i will admit i have one, just havent installed it yet. but most situations i have been stuck in just need a quick tug from another truck. never really needed a winch yet.

I was looking at it with the tire carrier. I have no interest in one without it.

The winch would be nice...but we have a number of them in the club already.

yes, Dave, I need a gas skid. That was one option as well. Bumper with gas skid puts me at like $1200.

I'm with Dagger on a winch.
I didn't use it at first, but since breaking it in, I've used it a lot.

But then again, I sold my X to reduce my debt!!

If you must spend it purchase front radflow 2.5 coil-overs.

Then you have not really been wheeling yet! The winch is probably the best tool to get you home. It has gotten me home, even in my driveway a few times.

I vote that you get a rear bumper w/o tire carrier and put the rest of the cash towards debt.

You'll get something nice and feel good about owing less money!
