I'm sure it's tame compared to the places a lot of folks take their Xterra's, but I'm a novice at this. This is a place called Fording Place, it's located dead center of a town road that is rarely known about or used by many. The road goes for a mile, has this creek that runs right over it and then the road continues on. Right after the creek is a stretch of road that is covered with 2 ft of water and mud.
As of this moment the road is closed because of some idiot that attempted to cross the creek this past Saturday night. He, his wife, and two little kids started across in a Honda Pilot and got stuck out towards the middle. The guy is a local and should have known better, you do not attempt this in any stock vehicle after a week of rain. And definitely not in the dark. No one was injured, except for his ego I'm sure. The wife and kids climbed out the sunroof and waited for help while he waded chest high to shore and went to find a cell signal. In a twisted way, I feel bad for the guy, probably just wanted to have some fun but obviously didn't think. Locals know this creek and it's habits and usually respect it.
This photo was taken as I got 1/4 way across and discovered it was getting deeper than I liked:
Turning around realizing it was a bad idea:

I was crossing this on a weekly basis, sucks now that it's closed, but it's probably still running high. Looking forward to many more adventures along the road.
