It makes sense... Just the price is steep, but you get what you pay for, lifetime warranty too right?
I'm thinking about it... I have some stuff going on Saturday, so not sure. 2 rigid floods so far seem to do the trick.. May add 2 rigid spots at some point...

Yeah, that's usually why we go night wheeling. Scott & I get the itch to go, but have stuff going on during the day. Sometimes we forget that there are 24 hours in a day!

Conditions were very dry on Saturday night. As we got up into the woods, the temp dropped from 94 to 83. At the end of the run, about 10pm, it was 74 up in the hills. So, our 'beat the heat' night run was a success.

The level in the water crossing was as low as we've ever seen it, but it is still deep:

Grabs off my dash camera:

Jeff seeing me off on my trip across the pond. Don't point out that his greying temples make him look like he has a MOHAWK, he's sensitive that way you know.

All four tires are wet and going to get a lot wetter. Now where is that road bed?

A couple of more as night settles in:

We're suffering a bit of a scare. In one corner somebody is working on the trails, clearing trees, grading, trenching and even some fill. I hope they reach their goals soon and stop.

Scott is always nice enough to remind me of the CAUTION sign that we pass right before this:
(pretty sure I'm using almost all the flex that my little Jeep has)

There's a rumor that we will be making run Sat morning on our usual trails. They should be dry as a bone with nice clear water in the beaver pond water crossing. Anyone need a tune up before B2S? Normal times expected - 9 AM my house, 9:30 trail head.

Rumor CONFIRMED - Spouses and families have cleared it we're hitting the trails tomorrow morning. Anyone need a shake down run or tune up before the B2SR next weekend? We should be finishing up around noon.

It's been a while since we've got out (well last week we did make the Halloween Run), today we headed back up to our usual haunt to see if we've lost any more of our trails to the turn them back into easily traveled gravel roads. We found the driest conditions we've seen to date. No additional trails have been "easified". It's still a lot of fun and we managed to avoid a lot of the smoothed road sections by eliminating the big water crossing. That water was significantly shallower too but we decided there was no point to crossing just to drive the reconditioned road.

Definitely better than a day at work! We need to schedule another run and see if we can't get some of the newer guys out there before conditions deteriorate and the long wet sections come back.

Pictures to prove it happened, and to show mud on Jeff's bumper.

As usual, Jeff took the high road weaving thru trees while I plowed through the mostly dried mud holes of the low road. Trees still scare me.

I was thinking MaBell this Friday 11/18/16 (since apparently I've decided that working 5 days per week isn't something I'm that fond of). Leave early, get to the trail head around 9-9:30am and be back home early afternoon.

Anyone interested?

OK, anyone interested in running MaBell early Saturday morning, like 8am at the trail head?
