Looks awesome. If you can plan a Saturday trip I'd love to join. Coaching my daughter's soccer on Sunday's for a while so tied up.

^^My nephew & brother-in-law want to come along sometime in their old Land Rover, and Sundays aren't good for them either. So, I'm sensing a Saturday run in the (hopefully near) future.

Saturdays, Sundays, either work for me until hunting season.

Michelle, I let Barb read your compliment on the muffins, gave her a big smile, until she asked if I'd had to pay you? Yes, she was just kidding. :D

Holy crap I missed this thread. Soon as I get my rig ironed out I'm in for some of these adventures. Drove through Granby yesterday to get my truck from CT Axle.

Has to be a weekend but as long as I'm in town I can make it up that way in a hour or so.

Friday 7:45 I just got the call, we are headed out tomorrow AM at 8:30 fro East Granby, Trail head (Tolland Center, MA) at 9:15? We'll be making the same run we made last time (Sunday). As warned, we often decide last minute to go. If anyone wants to drag their butt out of bed tomorrow am, come join us. Jeff's B-in-Law and nephew will be coming along in an old early 70's Land Rover. Jeff will have his kids so it's a low key run.

We will take pictures!

Scott

Sorry for the short warning, I just thought there may be someone else kicking around with as little life as I.

Anyway, we kept it short and sweet and I was home by noon. This was the first time I'd been out with Jeff's Brother-in-law and the Rover. On the trail we took it did a decent job. 30" tires meant they had to choose their path a bit carefully. Woods are drying out nicely, not to say there aren't puddles and mud holes but not "bad" ones.

Here's a few pictures so it did really happen:

Un-cropped shot showing a bit the trail:

Same shot cropped to better show the vehicles:

End of the run:

Good time, but an awfully short run, as we pretty much kept moving through it.

With the old Land Rover there is limited articulation, so sometimes you need a little momentum to carry you over an obstacle, like so:

A few other shots. Like Scott said, it was a nice easy relatively short run.

Edited. Jeff is now available Sunday (24th) morning so we now have a specific day to shoot for. 9:00 AM is our normal start but if someone is coming in from a distance and needs a bit later start we're open to it. We are still location/difficultly flexible.

I am definitely interested , i was going to work on my truck saturday but i'm considering joining you guys and working on it sunday? Do you know the location you guys are meeting up? I want to put it in my GPS to see how far of a drive it is for me. I'll most likely be bringing my 2 year old daughter with me , hope thats not a problem.

Rusty,

Just to make sure we're on the same page, this is a wheeling run not a Work/Mod Day.

The most probable trail we're going to run is close to 1580 Main Rd, Granville, MA 01034-9623 or the intersection of rte 57 & Beech Hill Rd. in Granville, MA. The local CT wheelers will probably meet in East Granby, CT, still 30 minutes away from the Granville, Tolland trail head. Normal time on the trail is 2 to 3.5 hours with exit points if kids or schedule require an earlier departure.

By text, I believe Michelle (WillUBMyKnight) will be joining us.

Scott
