Not really a ?Mod Day?, more of a ?Service Day??
On Tuesday night November 23rd FleXterra is going to be in NYC so after I get out of work starting around 7:15pm I?m going to swap out one of the front drivers side wheel studs in his ?04 Xterra. Thread HERE.

While we?ve got it all apart I?m going to show him how to service his front wheel bearings. If you are around and want to see/learn how to do this relatively simple but labor intensive bit of maintenance (around $400 at the dealership) you would be welcome to join us.

The address for the indoor (rain or shine) garage is 573 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215

This will be my farewell to this garage as my farther-in-law is selling the building at the end of the month (closing on the 30th). I?ll be forced out into the street like the rest of you bums.

Sorry to hear the building is going.

But for all you guys out there, Tom does a really good job of teaching the correct way to repack the wheel bearings. He shows you the little stuff you might miss in doing the job, how to avoid buggering up anything, and he is very fastidious (anal, for those who have trouble with big words) about torquing everything. If learn from Tom, you learn the right way to do it.

That blows that you are losing your garage, Tom. Will you be looking for a new location?

I don't know how much room we'll have but we can try. You will need to take any spent fluids with you when you leave so bring a container.
