Hope it doesn?t rain on you guys. I?ve got to work on Saturday so I can not make it. :(

If any of you are around on Sunday (the 14th, starting 8am) and want to watch/help me f@ck up?I mean re-index Vinny?s torsion bars, put on his Skudrz, change out one of Ken?s wheel hub assemblies and change out his WARN hubs for HB hubs you?d be welcome.

Count me in Tom

I got nothing going down on Sunday and before work picks up I want to get my fill of mess'n with the Xs.

Saturday is the Newport St.Patricks day parade/ Newport Drunk Fest. I may be a little late.

From what I hear eveyone opens their doors and you can walk into their house and have a beer or 12.
Could be an interesting day/ night.

See you Sunday Bro

Any of you other guys up for sunday at Tom's?

Sorry about that bro. You've been to the garage before so you can just show up if you want.

Tom, I gather that since you have access to a garage, this is a rain or shine event this weekend?

Worked out; Vinny had a family emergency (hope all will be well) and had to cancel. I?ll be able to sleep a bit later and then meet Ken.

Got to sleep a bit later ?cause Vinny canceled. Met Ken at about 12:30 and got right to it. Changed out his passenger side wheel hub assembly. It had few broken studs in it caused by the (IMHO) POS WARN manual hub he has been struggling with for a few years.

We re-packed his wheel bearings (over due) while we had all of that stuff open. Then we installed his new HB hubs;

Very nice.

A really big thanks to Tom. It was not too hard a job, but it did take some time to do it right. The wheel bearings only needed one specialized tool, and Tom had it.

It does take bit of knowledge to do it correctly, especially when re-assembling the bearings on the truck. You do need to torque down the bearing nut, seat the bearings, and then back off. Now that I know how it is done, it would not be a problem to do it myself.

The hardbody hubs look great, and they seem to be much better built than the Warns. Again, another big thanks to Tom -- he knew about a little rubber ring seal that needed to be taken off the old automatic hubs and put on the new hardbody hubs. I never would have even seen that seal if he did not point it out to me.

No worries Ken, I enjoy working on the trucks with friends.
Here is the link to the "guide" I was referencing while we re-packed the bearings;
http://www.rkrenn.com/xterra/howto/bearing/bearing.htm
As Ken knows, I printed this and leave it at my work space to reference. Handy tool.

Sorry Tom
I have my CDL combination written test on Wed and HAVE to pass it. I already passed my General Knowledge and Air Brakes but the company wants me to get my Class A.
