Any one here ever do a 2" BL on a 2nd gen and willing to take the lead doing one in a heated, indoor garage in Brooklyn? I've got tools (including air tools) and have done BL on 1st gens but have never worked on a 2nd.

When are you thinking about doing this?
I've only done 1st gens, but would be more than willing to lend a hand in getting it done.

For you 2nd gen guys, this is a great opportunity since we could get lots of pictures, document the hell out of how it's done and make it easier for the subsequent BLs that are done.

Oh, and who's truck is in need of a BL?

No one to lead. If I can get someone to lead we could make this a NeXterra event.

We could always take a look at the instructions, take our time and do it - unless we have some 2nd gens that have some insight.

If not, I say we set it up, get as much information as we can ahead of time and start early.

Me either, but there may not be a lot of people out there who've done them because no one else is around to help.

We could post questions up on the 2nd gen boards to see who's done one, what they did, the problems they encountered and if they have any write ups or advice.

You're assuming that we can read and, unlike most men, actually follow instructions.

He's right. It's not rocket science. We all did our first body lift.

I doubt it is difficult at all.

I'm good with this when working on my junk (or a friend's) but not on the truck of someone I'm meeting for the first time.

Check with the guy who wants the BL done.. see what his level of comfort is and whether he'd want to give it a shot.

It is his truck afterall. So, if he's willing to take advantage of the opportunity, then we can at least offer up our experience (or lack of)

I will volunteer to lead the 2nd Gen BL install. I have assisted with two installs, including my own.

If someone feeds me, I am there to help out, no problem!

I have only done the 2" BL though, not the 3". On 2nd Gens, the the 3" BL is much more involved.

Yes.
Stephen, I'd be free and have access to the garage on almost any Sunday/Monday so what is good for you? The garage can hold two trucks at a time but only one with room on the sides to work a floor jack. If we do one after another how many trucks should we schedule to in one day? Just one, maybe two?
I can start as early as you would like, 7, 8, 9 am start?
Once you and I settle on maybe two dates I'll through them up in the NewX thread. Any one that wants to show up and help can just do so. The guys who?s trucks get lifted pay for food and drink.
